Spring football

The Dolphins started the season with a loss :-( playing the Brighton Bulldogs (a dirty playing team) who have played together last season, and who already had one game this season. The first half was hard to watch, but the Dolphins came out in the second half and moved the chains and did not allow another score by the Bulldogs.
Quinton is #77 again, and there will be a lot of pictures on Flickr for the other parents to see. I also have my pictures being posted at www.milehifootball.com of other games. Trying to get a little business going to help pay for my photography addiction...

14ers win the championship!

The Colorado 14ers won the D-League championship last night, dominating the Utah Flash. I took the boys and a few friend, and the Carson's joined us also. The boys made out like bandits coming away with a couple of players jerseys and shoes from the game. We all had a great time!

Hoot owls?

Traci and Easton spotted these owls on Thursday, and since I had rented a 300mm lens we thought we'd go over and get some photos. The fluffiest little family...that is one cute baby!

Are you ready for some football?!

MileHi Football's spring season finally started after being postponed last week due to the snow. A few pictures of the first game seen here, and Quinton's first game is Saturday.

Also on tap is the Colorado 14ers playing for the NBA/D league championship tomorrow night at Broomfield Events Center. They beat Utah in overtime last night to put them up 1-0 in the best of 3 series. Go 14ers!!!

Another soldier off to war.

Dallas left today for Iraq...a sad day for all, but one that I am sure will ultimately be good for him. He came over yesterday after a ceremony at the Pepsi Center to say goodbye. Please pray for him, that he will be safe and secure while he is gone!

As most of you saw, Denver was in for the "blizzard of the century" yesterday, but it did not materialize down on the plains. We started off with about 10" of WET, HEAVY snow, but then it rained all night, and all of today and most of it is gone. We have finally got the moisture we so desperately needed. Up in the foothills near us, most places got 30" or more of the same snow, but it will all be gone fast...supposed to be up to 70 again by Tuesday.

Lots of new pictures, and a new way to subscribe. I have tested the new email subscription link on here, which you might want to try also. I is a feed type service and sends you pictures with links to them. I much prefer it, go ahead and try it. If you want to change let me know and I can take you off of my auto-send list.

Horizon Spring Jazz Concert

Easton performed a couple of Jazz charts at the spring concert for Horizon. Before/during the concert there was a spaghetti dinner for the choir. Easton played Soul Sauce again, and a new one called Mayday. Both were good, and since they were in the cafeteria, there is more light and sound, but also more crowd noise. Check the Flickr photos and YouTube videos above and at the right.

I've also added an email subscription link to the right. If you want to sign up to the feed please enter your email.

Movin' on up...

I wanted to update you all on my latest visit with my new liver doctor. As you may be aware, my former doctor left University Of Colorado Hospital to go to a hospital in Texas and run their program. Due to this, I had to choose a new doctor from the office to build a relationship with.

Dr. Burton seems to be a great guy, although he is about my age, you can't really hold that against him :-). He believes everything is going well for me, and wants to get an updated CT Scan so the surgeons have the latest. They have put my upgrade through yet again, and I am currently sitting at #5 on the list for A blood type. 3 smaller women and a man about my size are in front of me, but I have about as good of chance as anyone.

We still know it will happen when it is supposed to, but please keep us in your thoughts and prayers.

Stop and smell the roses...

Happy Easter ! ! !
Easter is finally here, and not only is it significant to most people for the rising of Christ, it also means the beginning of spring and warm weather. We are excited that it is finally turning warm in Colorado, the days are getting longer, and of course the boys are glad the school year is close to an end.
We will be off to church shorly to celebrate and wanted to remind each of you, with all that consumes each of our lives, "stop and smell the roses" and enjoy life. Don't let it get you down or get too caught up in everything...enjoy it!

14'ers game, Basketball Awards

Hi all- last night was a great night! Quinton's basketball team had their banquet in a private suite for an NBA development league basketball game. They had both teams that the coaches had this year, and all the parents got to sit together in a section. The kids had a great time, the d-NBA team is ranked #1 in the league and starts the playoffs next week. All the pictures are up on Flickr for your enjoyment.

Make a difference!

Right now in Congress there are some big issues that affect our lives. One is a focus on Pancreatic Cancer, the other is a bill for funding of Bone Marrow Failure diseases. You can take action on each of them simply and electronically by going here:

Links for both of these are always over on the right also. Keep up to date, and be aware of how you can help to make a change!

Eyes to the soul...

I have been working on my portrait skills, trying to improve them, and get to the point that I feel confident taking other peoples pictures (and making my millions $$$ :-) ). Traci and Easton have both been so kind as to endure this with me as I take their pictures and then work on them.
Here is my lastest of Traci, and the eyes have such depth, I feel I finally hit it with this!

Easton has also held still as I have taken hundreds of pictures of him. He is just as photogenic as him mom!

New changes and Spring again?...

Rumor has it that Spring is coming...still can't make up it's mind! We were supposed to have 12" of snow yesterday, but it just did not show itself and we ended up with 35mph winds and about an inch. The flowers are covered, the Robins are mad, and we are ready for Spring in Colorado!

I have also added our YouTube videos to this page. You will now see the latest of our videos on the right side of the blog. You can click on any or them to watch, or you can still go to http://www.youtube.com/scooter650x and check them out that way. Also be sure to watch the Flickr cloud at the top of our page, right above the lasest post. It will be filled with all of our latest pictures on Flickr, just mouse over it to see how it works.
